We have decided to take a new route in our gift guide this year. We know you guys don't need to be told EXACTLY what to buy when it comes to presents.Everyone has different friends and loved ones with different personalities and tastes, so why would they want the same gift?
This years theme is HAPPINESS & WELLBEING, which to all of us here at Mulbury, is the ultimate gift anyone could want this Christmas. But how do you give someone happiness and wellbeing? Well, you can't. BUT, what you can do is give them the best possible chance of getting the most out of life this Christmas and beyond. Confused? Don't worry, it will all make sense below.
There is a saying: Who you surround yourself with, you become.
I believe this wholeheartedly, but don't stop at people. I think it's also super important to surround yourself with happy memories, inspirational photos, future plans and achievements. This can have a great benefit on your mental happiness.
In fact, sprucing up your home or office with objects and images that trigger good vibes are one of the 13 steps in Harvard's Guide to Happiness. Check out this short video:
“We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate.”
― Pico Lyer
Maps are so great, nothing inspires the viewer more to "get out into the big, wide world and live your life" like a giant map with pins tacked into it. We here at Mulbury can spend hours looking at a recently framed map, wondering about what it would be like to trek over to the other side of the world.
Think of something your "giftee" has been aspiring to do / go / be. Find that perfect piece that will give them an extra push in the right direction. Eg - An aspiring painter could use a nice set of paint brushes, a book on art or even a beret and fake moustache.
We all have great photos hidden on our hard drives and USB's. Take some time to go through them and print out some beauties. Frame them up or make a scrapbook for a friend. The perfect gift full of memories.
We all have our favourite quotes, but sometimes, we can forget these and let life pass us by for a while. Write one up yourself in a card or on a poster and make your gift a reminder to someone about how great life really is.
Time is really one of the greatest gifts you can give anyone. How many times have you heard or even said yourself " I don't have time for that". Well, here is your chance to give someone a day of your life. All you need is a ticket entitling the owner to a day with you whenever they like. You get 365 of them a year, one won't ruin your life, Plan a road trip, a picnic or even a night out - your friend will love you for it.
