Most off-cuts that end up in landfill are perfectly good Australian hardwood and are full of history, character and beautiful grain. That’s bad news for the planet and your walls. So, this National Recycling Week, we decided to do what we do best: rethink waste.
Introducing the Revival Frames
Say hello to our newest creation — the Revival Frames.
Each frame is handcrafted right here in Melbourne from recycled timber off-cuts rescued straight off our workshop floor. Every picture frame tells its own story through quirks, knots and weathered charm. No two are ever the same, and that’s exactly how we like it.
This isn’t just about making another frame. It’s about celebrating imperfection, reducing waste, and proving that sustainable design can be just as stylish (if not more so) than anything new.
Each Revival Picture Frame is made using the same high-quality recycled timber we use for all our picture frames, just in smaller, more adventurous pieces. Think of them as the patchwork quilts of the framing world with equal parts practical and poetic.
How Does This Tie with National Recycling Week?
National Recycling Week is all about rethinking what we throw away. For us, that’s nothing new at all as Mulbury has been turning reclaimed wood into quality frames for over 25 years, rescuing tones of timber in perfectly good condition that could've gone to the landfills.
By crafting the Revival range, we’re closing the loop on our own production process. Every photo frame we make from these rescued timbers keeps more material out of landfill and puts something meaningful back into your home.
And that’s not just good design — that’s sustainability at its peak.
Sustainably Stylish: The Details
Each Revival frame comes in a range of popular sizes including 7" x 5", 8" x 6", 8" x 10", A4, and A3 making them perfect for displaying your favourite photos, artwork, or any picture that deserves a second life.
Features include:
- Handmade in Melbourne from genuine recycled timber
- Each frame includes 2mm glass or optional acrylic (we recommend acrylic for safer shipping)
- Comes with flexi-clips, hanging clip or string and 3mm backing board
- Ready to hang landscape or portrait — or stand upright on a shelf
- Approximate dimensions: 40mm wide, 10-13mm deep.
Each Revival frame offers a strong, unique wooden finish originating from all the unique characters and finish of our off-cuts (which are what our regular frames are made of). Because the timber is reclaimed, colours and textures vary wildly (and wonderfully).
In short: if you like surprises, you’ll definitely love these.

Our supply of timber off-cuts is limited, which means these Revival Frames are too. We hand-pick the best pieces of off-cuts to make sure it resonates the same quality as how we make our regular frames before it reaches your walls.
