Picture Frames.

How to install, hang and stand frames in our Slim and Original styles for sizes up to A4 that come with a hanging clip and stand back piece:

Some of our smaller timber picture frames come with a small metal clip. To attach these clips, see the above video or follow these steps:

  • On the back of the picture frame, pull back the flexi-clips
  • Remove the backing board and acrylic/glass.
  • If you have acrylic, remove the brown protective film from each side of the acrylic and place the clear acrylic back in the frame
  • Find the hanging clip and slide the clip onto the backing board
  • Remember to slide the clip onto the side which you want to be the top of the frame
  • Insert your image and the backing board into the frame
  • Fold flexi-clips back down to secure all glass/acrylic, images and backing board
  • Put a nail or screw in your wall and hang!

Only our 'Slim', ‘Original’ and 'Chunky' frames have a free-standing option up to A4 size for Slim & Original and up to 8" x 10" for Chunky Oiled. See the above video or below instructions.

In your parcel you would have received some thin timber rectangle shaped pieces. These timber squares slot into the grooves in the back of the timber frame. It may be a little tight so be sure to press firmly. Once the timber square is in the groove your picture frame is ready to sit freestanding on your desk, bedside table or wherever you choose to place it!

We’ve been making our Recycled Timber Picture Frames for over 25 years. We guarantee the quality will meet or surpass your expectations. We take great care with the timber and other materials we use.
The back of the frames are generally untouched. Some deterioration of the timber may be present. This is perfectly fine and is nothing to be concerned about.

See our quick video for more info here.

Colour, Nail holes, knots and timber grain will vary with each frame. Please keep an open mind when ordering our products.

The timber we use is based on what we are able to source. All our timber is 100% recycled and comes from building sites around Melbourne, Australia. We generally use Victorian Ash or Mountain Ash and at times, other Eucalyptus varieties. Sometimes we’re lucky enough to get our hands on Red Gum and this is set aside for custom orders only. Our Acrylic Glass is also made from 50% Recycled materials.

Each side of the picture will lose about 5 - 8mm. As our picture frames are hand made from recycled materials, we experience a small variance of 1-2mm in size, but rest assured your image will fit nicely in the frame. Each frame is made to suit the image size stated. EG, A4 size frames will fit an A4 size image. For Frames with Mat boards, you will lose about 3mm of each side of the image behind the board.

Our acrylic is wrapped in a protective green and clear film to avoid any scratches while it is on its way to you. Open your frame and remove the backing board and your acrylic should be inside with the words ‘please peel’ written on it. Peel back the film on each side and you will have a clear piece of acrylic ready for your frame. This is also demonstrated in the above video.
