World Photography Day: 5 Photo Prints Worth Taking Off Your Phone and Putting in a Frame

We take more photos than ever, yet most of them live their entire lives somewhere between the camera roll and “I’ll sort those out one day”.

This World Photography Day, here’s a little challenge: find five photos that deserve more than the occasional thumb scroll. You don’t need hundreds of framed photos around the house. Sometimes owning fewer things and giving more importance to what you keep makes your space feel far more personal.

Here are five worth looking for and we even included some of our customer photos!

1. The wonderfully ordinary family photo

Not every photo needs perfect lighting, matching outfits or everyone looking at the camera.

The kids eating breakfast, Dad asleep on the sofa, the dog doing something ridiculous. These ordinary moments often become the favourite ones because they actually look like your life.

Choose a photo print, add a simple frame, and suddenly an everyday moment becomes something you notice again.

2. A place you never want to forget

That beach you return to every summer. The lookout from a road trip. The tiny café where you spent half your holiday.

A landscape print can make beautiful wall art, particularly when the frame style, colour and finish complement the image rather than compete with it.

You do not need to be a professional designer either. A simple timber frame with visible grain can give a vibrant landscape plenty of character without shouting, “Look at me, I have excellent interior design taste.”

Although, naturally, it may suggest it.

3. Your pet photos (we know you have tons of them)

Pets are part of the family, so their best moments deserve more than the camera roll too.

Choose a photo that captures their personality, whether sweet, silly or somewhere in between, and turn it into a print and frame you can enjoy every day.

Because if they already run the house, they may as well have a spot on the wall.

4. Something the kids created

Your walls do not have to be reserved for serious artwork.

Photograph a favourite drawing, painting or wonderfully unidentifiable masterpiece and turn it into a print. You can even personalise your little home gallery by mixing children's work with family photographs and other framed pictures.

It is also a clever way to keep the best pieces without needing a storage box approximately the size of a small hatchback.

5. An old family photo

Before there was an endless camera roll, there was usually one slightly faded family portrait tucked into an album or drawer.

An old wedding photo, a picture of your grandparents or even a photograph of your childhood home can be worth bringing back into view.

Scan it, create a high quality print on suitable photo paper, then choose a mount or white border if the image needs a little breathing room. A well considered framed print can feel wonderfully timeless.

Print fewer. Choose better.

There is a sustainability lesson hiding in all of this too.

Rather than filling your home or office with things simply because there is an empty wall, choose a smaller collection that genuinely means something to you. Thoughtful photo printing and framing gives the photographs you already own another life.
